BUILD A VOICE THAT PERFORMS UNDER PRESSURE

Integrated clinical voice care, performance voice medicine, coaching and on-site support for people whose work, artistry or identity depends on their voice.

Whether you are restoring function, preparing for a performance, developing professional impact or supporting a team, I help build a voice that is healthy, capable and reliable when it matters.

ONE SPECIALIST. THE WHOLE VOICE.

I’m Amy Oughton, an Advanced Speech-Language Therapist specialising in voice, a certified Performance Voice Medicine Specialist, vocal coach and performer.

My approach brings together clinical voice science, vocal health, performance, professional communication and real-world coaching. Rather than separating health from technique or performance, I consider the clinical, physical, technical, behavioural, psychosocial, environmental and performance factors affecting the voice.

This gives you one consistent point of specialist support across assessment, rehabilitation, development, preparation, performance and recovery—while collaborating with ENT and other professionals whenever multidisciplinary care is needed.

HEALTH, PERFORMANCE AND THE PERSON BEHIND THE VOICE

I work with people whose voices carry significant personal, professional or performance demands.

This includes singers, recording artists, actors and performers; executives, lawyers, educators, presenters and other professional speakers; creative teams, casts and voice-dependent organisations; and people experiencing changes in their voice or upper-airway function.

You do not need to have a voice disorder to benefit. A healthy voice may still need greater stamina, flexibility, efficiency, presence or preparation for the demands ahead.

You don’t need to be a professional performer to deserve specialist voice care.

BEYOND HEALTHY

READY FOR THE DEMAND

Voice is often separated into medical, therapeutic, singing, speaking and performance worlds. My work deliberately connects them.

Clinical reasoning informs development. Performance demands inform rehabilitation. Acoustic and perceptual analysis inform coaching. The person, the task and the environment remain central throughout.

For a performer, “healthy” is not always the same as performance-ready. For a professional speaker, being audible is not the same as being influential. For someone recovering from a voice disorder, reducing symptoms is only one part of restoring confidence and function.

The goal is a voice that works efficiently, sustainably and authentically for what you need it to do.

PREPARE. PERFORM. RECOVER. PROTECT.

High-performance voice care considers what your voice needs before, during and after periods of demand.

PREPARE — understand your voice, establish meaningful baselines and plan for what lies ahead.

PERFORM — build the efficiency, capacity, flexibility and confidence required for the task.

RECOVER — use evidence-informed reset and return-to-performance strategies after demanding voice use, illness or injury.

PROTECT — manage load, recognise changes early and create sustainable systems for long-term voice health.

VOICE SUPPORT WHEN THE MOMENT MATTERS

Some voice demands cannot be fully understood from inside a consultation room.

I can work alongside you on tour, during rehearsals or recording, backstage at a production, at a conference, or while you prepare for a keynote, TEDx talk, executive presentation or media appearance.

On-site support may include vocal preparation and coaching, live load monitoring, vocal-health care, voice massage, recovery, early identification of emerging concerns, rapid problem-solving and planning for the next demand.

Every engagement is designed around the individual, artist, production or organisation.
