ME BEFORE

A raw and honest exploration of identity, motherhood, ambition, and becoming again.

Before motherhood, I thought I knew exactly who I was.

Then life rearranged everything.

Me Before is a deeply personal reflection on the quiet identity shifts many women experience when motherhood, ambition, career, and self collide.

ABOUT THE BOOK

What happens when the life you built begins to feel unfamiliar?

Me Before began as a therapy exercise during one of the most challenging seasons of my life. What started as scattered journal entries slowly became something much bigger — a story about identity, resilience, grief, ambition, and rediscovering the woman behind the roles we carry.

Through deeply personal storytelling, this book explores the emotional and psychological shifts that can occur when motherhood reshapes the way we see ourselves, our careers, and our future.

This is not a book about choosing between motherhood and ambition.

It is about learning how to hold both.

Inside the book you’ll find reflections on:

• Identity and self-discovery
• Postpartum mental health and emotional healing
• Career questioning and redefining success
• Ambition, motherhood, and modern womanhood
• The quiet process of becoming again

The Pause & Reflect Experience

One of the most unique aspects of Me Before is that it’s not just a book to read — it’s a book to experience.

At the end of each chapter, you’ll find Pause & Reflect sections designed to help you slow down and reconnect with yourself.

These guided prompts invite you to:

• Reflect on your own experiences
• Process identity shifts and life transitions
• Journal your thoughts and insights
• Explore who you are becoming

By the end of the book, many readers will have created a personal journal of reflection alongside the story.

Who This Book Is For

This book is for the woman who:

• Loves her children fiercely but sometimes misses parts of herself
• Appears successful on the outside but quietly questions everything inside
• Is navigating the intersection of motherhood, ambition, identity, and purpose
• Feels like she is evolving but doesn’t yet know what comes next

If you’ve ever wondered:

“Where did I go?”

You are not alone.

A Personal Note from Amy

I didn’t write this book because I had everything figured out.

I wrote it because I didn’t.

This book began during a time when I was questioning my identity, my career, and my place in the world after becoming a mother. Writing became a way to process what I was experiencing — the joy, the grief, the confusion, the growth.

Somewhere along the way I realised something powerful:

So many women were feeling the same things.

Me Before is my way of giving language to those experiences and creating space for honest conversations about motherhood, identity, and ambition.

If even one woman reads this and feels less alone, then sharing this story will have been worth it.
